Wood County WIC Client Satisfaction Project

Summary

Impact Statement:
By improving processes in its WIC program, the Wood County Health Department has made WIC education more accessible to clients, increased client satisfaction, and freed up staff time to complete other work assignments.
Summary:

The Wood County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program wanted to assess clients' satisfaction with the program as a means to improving program enrollment. Based on survey results, it was found that the draft pick-up process was a burden to many clients. To eliminate the hardship of obtaining the drafts through our current process, we instituted the WIC online education program. Through this program, clients complete an online education modual, take a quiz, and email their certifcate of completion to our office. Once the certificate is received, the client's drafts are mailed to their home and the draft pick-up burden is elminated, thus improving client satisfaction.

This is a great idea! Great way to use QI to make the process better for clients! Great client-centered care.

Thanks for sharing your effort! You noted that if WIC enrollment drops below 1,475 then the Change Team would intervene. Has this happened, and if so, please describe what transpired. Thanks!
